They are currently settling in, so I cannot comment greatly on their personalities… So far they will happily take seeds from my hands, I have mainly been getting them used to me – I have taken them out once for a quick explore on my arms.

Skye fought with Isi and Hazel, so I introduced two new friends to her:

Hazel passed away at  only just over 2, which makes her one of my most premature deaths so far. I think I’ve only ever had a few who have not made it at least to three… I just suddenly found her fluffed and cold in her tank, so had her in a hospital tank before she passed away.

Waved lines:

I don’t have many of the waved lines left; most have gone to live with Ed, I do however have these few:

I also have two UK Shaw’s Jirds;

Aimee and Anisa. They’re over 3 years old in November and live together in a nice large tank complete with cage topper.

Anisa has sadly now passed away, leaving Aimee on her own. Aimee is now getting gradually more frail and I don’t think she’ll be with us much longer as she’s lost a lot of condition in her back and around her bum – Jirds typically have big, plump bums but now she seems rather sunken. 3 is a good age though, so I cannot complain.
