Jird Update
August 5th, 2009 by Wyss
I’ve had the girls for 7 months now and things are going well.
Anisa continues to be her friendly self, with Aimee being somewhat more nervous. But as they age I am sure she will calm down more – I’ve had female gerbil pairs be similar before, so it’s nothing new to me!
- A poor photo, but it does at least show the girls together…
- A closer shot of the two… Reflections are an issue!
- A wider view of their tank taken after cleaning. More substrate will be added as they work with the shavings, it’s so large that it can be difficult estimating how much is needed.
- After changing lenses for better shots, Anisa watches me and poses nicely.
- … and begins to relax a little…
- Showing more of her body, neither are particularly fat or even chubby… Often Jirds do get quite big, so I think I’m doing well!
- Checking me again, I love their front paws, they’re so chunky compared to Gerbils’!
- Aimee takes a break from reorganising their house after I moved things around and gave them their new steps.
- Aimee getting a little closer, but then goes back to house arranging.
- I think she’s managed to rub fur off her nose in the short time since cleaning them out! Jirds…
