Wow! I’ve just adopted my first ever gerbil, she’s had a bit of a rough time by all accounts, but we’re hoping she’ll settle in time. How do you manage to get such great pics? I’ve had rats for years..they’re so easy to photograph because they’re lazy, lol. Little gerbil lass never seems to be still.

With difficultly!! The photos you see are a small percent of what I actually take, roughly half will be blurred from a photo session, I take and save far too many to post without blowing people’s brains out with boredom. My HD isn’t exactly overjoyed by the amount either.
It’s a case of snapping lots, using macro and I find that daylight helps tremendously. You can use flash but it ruins a photo in my opinion.
