Sienna

Writing this a tad late, but my lovely argente gold girl Sienna was PTS April 28th.

Deciding to let an animal go is one of the hardest things for an owner to do, even with something as small as a gerbil, and doing so for Sienna was an exceptionally heart-breaking decision for me.
I had discovered a small lump in her behind about a month beforehand, which had slowly but surely grown. A visit to the vet confirmed my suspicions of a tumour, and he had offered then to put her to sleep rather than let her suffer. I brought her home.

Sienna was one of my “original five” which consisted of Raven, Pepper, Kali, Kess and Sienna, so as well as losing her I almost felt as though I had lost all four of the others all over again. She had a wonderful personality, my little “sniffer” – would smell everything, including the insides of her own tank after being taken out!
I believe she’s most remembered by others for her appearance in a scooping video for the eGerbil site; the gerbil that would leap straight into my hand. As she aged and her tumour grew, she became more slow about leaping onto my hand and would need a few minutes to patrol her tank (sniffing as she went) to wake up and then would bound onto my palm for playtime.

Sienna

I miss my little ruby-eyed girl.
