Other Pets

I’ll introduce the two dogs first i think – seeing as they are the most troublesome!  We love them really :)

Penny

This is my lovely girl.  I got her from the SSPCA in August 2000.  She was extremely nervous and very thin as she had been found wandering the streets and was almost starved to death.  She is now 9 years old and is still quite nervous of strangers.  As we are unsure of her past its hard to tell why but obviously she didnt have a very nice life at all.  She is devoted to me and unfortunately does not take kindly to strangers!

Barney

We got Barney at the age of 7 just before Christmas 2006.  We took him on from a couple who had rescued him from his original home.  His original owners wanted him put to sleep as they were splitting up and neither of them wanted him.  The couple who took him only only had him a few weeks but had to rehome him as the wife was terribly allergic to him.  So we added Barney to the family.  He hadnt been walked for years in his first home and just got into the garden via a dogflap from the kitchen.  He didnt have much training either so he has been a lot of hard work but is coming along nicely.

Schofield

Before we got Schofield we had taken on a hamster from people who didnt want him.  Unfortunately he had wet-tail and two days after we got him we had him at the emergency vet to be put to sleep due to the amount he was suffering.  I hadnt really had an interest in hamsters before then but he kind of changed my mind.  Gordon knew i was upset about the condition etc of the hamster so he surprised me with this little lad a couple of weeks later.  He got his name as he had practically escaped out of his box before he even got to me – so we named him after Michael Schofield from prison break.  He is very sweet and a little shy.

Fiver

Mose

Once we had Fiver we decided she would be happier with a friend.  We went to CARROT rabbit rehome and chose Mose to be her hubby.  He now enjoys life with his bunny wife.  They have the odd small disagreements but dont every couple!  Mose is quite a timid boy and hates being inside.  We bring the bunnies in when there are fireworks and he loathes it!  Hes quite an aloof bunny and isnt too fussed by humans.  Not surprising really as he had a horrible start to life.  Hes a handsome boy

Mallow

Mallow came from a garden centre.  She was 7 months old and no one seemed to want her.  Possibly because she is a REW and partially blind.  She’d been sold to the garden centre from a breeder as she was deemed “no good”.  Well shes the sweetest little timid bunny you could ever meet.  She is lovely and lives with her husbun Buddy

Buddy

Buddy is a very handsome orange mini rex.  We got him also from CARROT as a friend for mallow (who is also a mini rex).  He was taken to CARROT by his previous owners as he was kept as an indoor bun but kept chewing her furniture and tripping up her elderly mother.  Gordon saw him on a visit one day and i think that was his fate sealed!  He is a very nosy and friendly bunny and loves running up to me for a head nose and cheek rub!  He’s gorgeous inside and out.

Sasha

This pretty lady came to us all the way from Barnsley Animal Rescue Charity.  She is the newest addition to the family and is settling in fine.

Rupert

Rupert came from Bunnyhops Rescue in Bolton after we lost Elliot.  He is now bonded with Mallow and they live together as house bunnies.
