Grandpa and Pops – these were given to Indy’s Rascals and due to their age will stay with us forever

Please check out my rehoming section as there are often gerbils needing loving homes on there.

  6. Nicki Said,

Hi Katy. Gerbils arent the most delicate of parents lol. They will step on them yes but dont worry the babies will be ok. You will often see the parents kicking the gerbils when digging etc – and grabbing them by the head, neck, paws – anything really. They are much more robust than you think!
Does the mother have plenty of bedding and a nest box? If they dont have these they may get agitated and restless and could make them step on the babies more.
