Myself and my hubby have decided to make some space in our home and in our hearts for gerbils who need a home either forever or on a temporary basis until the time comes when we can find another suitable home for them.
If you wish to find out any more information on rehoming, please email me at indys_rascals@hotmail.com
Our aim is to provide a safe home for any gerbil which may need us,so long as we have the space available to provide this. We only take on a sensible number of Gerbils at a time, as we couldnt give the quality of care and attention we pride ourselves on if we take on too many. Any animals which may be unsuitable for rehoming or those who for whatever reason havent managed to find a home will live out the rest of their lives with us. Every Gerbil who comes to us will be provided with the same security and care as the rest, regardless of time spent here.
Before considering buying or adopting a gerbil it’s really important that you do your research first. This will allow you make an informed decision as to whether or not gerbils are the right pet for you. You should also think of your reasons as to why you would like to have them and understand that they need daily handling and care in order to have a good life. If you cant spare time each day for them then you shouldnt even consider having them. Doing your research properly will enable you to give your gerbil the best possible life with you and a well looked after gerbil is a happy gerbil

REHOMING POLICY
As we have had many enquiries and conversations about the gerbil’s we have available for rehoming and then consequently let down at the last minute, we have some requirements which must be met before you will be considered for adopting one of our animals.
1. We do NOT rehome any gerbils to live in a caged environment. Cages are useless for them as they cannot build their own tunnel systems which is one of their main requirements. A storage tub made into tank type housing is perfect, as is a glass tank or aquarium.
2. The rehome is not a centre. It is run from our own home so visits are by appointment only. We have our own lives and other animals to take care of so please bear in mind you may not be able to visit exactly when you want to, but we do our best to be as flexible as possible regarding this.
3. Homechecks are always done before any gerbil goes to its new potential home. As a lot of our rehomes have not had the best starts before they come to us, we do this so we know we have done all we can to ensure them good homes for the rest of their lives.
4. Once you have adopted a gerbil from us you will have a “lifetime guarantee“. This means that we will always be available to offer support and advice if and when it is needed.
Anyway, thats the official part over with. Now onto the Gerbils!
If you feel you can offer any of the Gerbils below a loving forever home, then please get in touch.
Scooby and Scrappy (Golden Agouti Males)
Both boys are friendly and very nice natured. They must stay as a pair. They were quite badly neglected when they came to us, but now are very happy little lads. Both are around 1 1/2 years old.

Robbie, Rory and Paquito (2 X Golden Agouti, 1X Spotted Golden Agouti, Males)
This trio are very sweet natured Gerbils. Paquito (Spotted) is very outgoing and will happily crawl onto your hand and up your arm for some yummy treats. He is around 1 year old. Robbie and Rory are a bit younger and roughly 9 months old. They are friendly but a bit shyer than Paquito is.

I am currently updating the website. WE have many Gerbils looking for loving new homes. If you would like any information on this, then please contact me at indys_rascals@hotmail.com. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I am really intrested in getting a couple of Gerbils. I have had one in the past, but I think he got lonely by himself. I have a Gerbil cage that is a clear plastic box at the bottom and two cage levels at the top, would this be okay to home 2-3 Gerbils?
Sorry about the delay! I have been bad and not keeping things up-to-date! By the sounds of it you have a gerbilarium which sounds quite like the pets at home one? If its’ the case it’s really not big enough for two gerbils let alone three.
I know these types say on them they are suitable for 2/3 but they really are far too small. YOu would be much better getting a tank or converting a clear plastic storage tub – around 20 gallons or a 2 1/2 foot tank for two gerbils, or 3 foot tank for 3/4
Hey guys, I am so impressed by your dedication and wish I’d known about you before I purchased my two gerbils as I would have preferred to rehome! I own two gerbils called Brian and Albert, although tonight, after a good clean of the tank, they have de-clanned and started to fight. Albert has serious bites over his hind and tail. I have split them up, but would like to know if you could help in any way? I cannot take on two tanks and think it is best to split them as the other one is happy enough on his own. Would it be possible for you to have Brian? he is about 8months old, grey and white. A happy chappie and very friendly and good to handle. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Wendi xx
I am wanting to get 2 gerbils, where are u at the moment? I would like to rescue them but if nothing is near i’m afraid i would have to purchase one from the pet store. thank you
HI I am based in Dundee in Scotland, but rehome nationally in some circumstances
Hi, i wouled to have 2 gerbils and i have everything ready for them but i stay in fife far away from you so it might not be possible to do a house check?
Hi – where in Fife are you? We have people all over who are willing to do homechecks so that wouldn’t be a problem
Hi I already have 2 gorgeous male gerbils who we all love loads but we’re looking for more the live in a big aquarium type tank with loads of space. I also work in a nursery and the children would love pet gerbils which I would be fully responsible for and I would bring them home weekends and holidays. Where are you based and how would I go about adopting . I’m in glasgow. Thanks Lisa
Hi Lisa. Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately we don’t rehome our gerbils to be used as classroom pets. Often they have come from far from ideal conditions and we want them to live out the rest of their lives in a peaceful and secure place. Sorry we can’t be of help on this occasion.
